What inputs do I need for the FERS pension estimator?

You need five inputs: birth date, Service Computation Date (from SF-50 box 31), current base pay including locality, current TSP balance, and an estimated Social Security benefit. All calculations happen in your browser � nothing is sent to any server.

How accurate is the FERS retirement estimate?

The estimator uses OPM's official FERS pension formula (high-3 � years of service � multiplier), TSP contribution and matching rules from TSP.gov, and 2025 IRS limits. It is conservative by default � it does not model the FERS Annuity Supplement or sick leave credit, which would both increase your actual benefit. Every assumption is adjustable.

Is my data private when using the estimator?

Yes. All calculations run entirely in your browser. Your numbers are never sent to any server, never stored in a database, and never transmitted to anyone. HighThree has no backend, no user accounts, and no analytics that capture your inputs. Your scenario is saved locally in your browser's localStorage until you clear it.
